Govt to fill 1,400 police vacancies shortly: HM
Palakkad, Jun 9 (UNI) Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan today said about 1,400 vacancies in the police force in the state would be filled up this month and more recruitments conducted in the coming months.
Inaugurating the new building of the Mangalam Dam police station, he said there was delay in filling the vacancies as these were not reported to the Public Service Commission (PSC) in time.
It had been decided to report the 3,400 vacancies that would come up till December end due to the retirement of police personnel, in order to speed up the process.
Mr Balakrishnan said the district collectors had been asked to look for lands for building police stations that were not functioning from its own buildings.
Community Police System would come up in all the Municipalities and Corporations by September, he added.
