CTC variety makes a headway in tea market
Kolkata, June 9 (UNI) CTC variety has made consistent and substantial headway in the tea market, with more than eight kg sold this week.
According to this week's Kolkata Tea Market Report, there has been good sale of the CTC variety, with about 8,86,462 sold this week, especially in Western India.
CTC variety of good liquoring teas had also attracted exporters on bolder brokens.
The local dealers dealt mainly with the Dooars variety and clean and improved liquoring.
Western India also savoured the taste of the dust variety of tea, followed by the Orthodox and Darjeeling variety.
The dust variety achieved a sale of 2,78,103 kg, followed by orthodox having sales of 1,79,203 kg and Darjeeling variety achieving sales amounting to 1,32,639 kg.
The orthodox variety had attracted exporters from West Asia and CIS shippers. However, North India preferred the bolder whole leaf variety.
