Beam Global introduces IMFL whisky brand DYC
Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI) Beam Global Spirits and Wine Inc, the fourth largest premium spirits company in the world, has entered a new category in the Indian spirits market with the introduction of an 'Indian Made Foreign Liquor' (IMFL) whisky brand, DYC.
DYC was an established brand in Europe that had been adapted exclusively for the Indian market. A blend of premium Indian grain and imported aged malts, DYC would be blended and bottled in India.
''With this launch, Beam Global is addressing a gap in the market between the premium and semi-premium IMFL price segment. The move represents an opportunity to leverage an untapped sector and propels Beam Global into the largest whisky sector in India''. The brand would be available at all leading outlets across the country, the company said in a statement here today.
The launch of DYC would contribute to the expansion of the Beam Gloabal India portfolio and add distribution strength to the company's flagship brand Teacher's as well as to the company's international portfolio of brands. Teacher's had achieved strong double-digit growth in India during 2006.
''With DYC in the IMFL segment, Sauza in the tequila category, and Jim Beam in the bourbon market, we are well positioned to leverage our market position to propel growth. We have great expectations from the Andhra Pradesh market alone'', the release said.
