AP to have 35 lakh acres of cultivable land by 2009
Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, June 9 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Minister A Raghuveera Reddy today said 35 lakh acres of land in the state would be brought under cultivation by the year 2009.
Addressing mediapersons here, he said the state government had fulfilled the election promises as per the people's agenda. The government had distributed 1.70 crore ration cards and the G O for The Horticulture University, expected to come up in the East Godavari district, would be released shortly and admissions would begin before the end of the current year.
Later, he inaugurated the Ragolu Agriculture Training and Research Institute and also addressed the 'Rythu Sadassulu' in Vizianagaram district.
