Airtel offers call to cyclone-hit Oman at Rs 6 min
New Delhi, June 9 (UNI) Leading telecom service provider Airtel today said its customers can contact their relatives in the cyclone-hit Oman at a no-profit call rate of rupees six per minute for three days.
''We hope all our fellow Indians are safe in Oman and offer a small gesture to support them and their affected families here,'' Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services President Atul Bindal said in a statement.
The subsidised call rate from company's fixed phones is available from 00 hours June 8, 2007 till 23.59 hours June 10,2007.
Cyclone Gonu battered Oman's coast on Thursday, flooding highways and tearing down trees and power lines, resulting in the death and evacuation of residents.
