13 inmates escape from child detention centre
Jabalpur, June 9 (UNI) Thirteen inmates of a child detention centre in Jabalpur escaped last night after beating up the guard, police said today.
City Superintendent of Police Amrendra Singh said 15 inmates asked the guard to open the door on the pretext of going to toilet.
The inmates started beating up the guard, who managed to catch hold of two inmates.
He said the centre's incharge today lodged a police complaint at Ranjhi police station. Most inmates had been detained on the charges of theft.
Police have launched a massive hunt to trace the boys.
