11 more inmates of Mysore prison fall ill
Mysore, June 9 (UNI) Close on the heels of 50 inmates of the Mysore Central Jail falling ill yesterday, 11 more prisoners, including two women, took ill due to suspected food poisoning today.
The 11 persons had developed uneasiness and vomiting after partaking dinner last night and were admitted to the K R Hospital here this morning.
The condition of all the prisoners admitted today was stated to be out of danger. Seven persons admitted yesterday were still being treated at the hospital.
The hospitalised prisoners blamed the ''contaminated'' drinking water supplied in the prison for their illness.
Meanwhile, the jail authorities made arrangements for proper drinking water supply and quality food for the prisoners.
