WR drive against ticketless travellers nets Rs 55 lakhs
Vadodara, June 08 (UNI) The Vadodara division of Western Railway earned Rs 55 lakh last month through fines on ticketless travellers.
Sr DCM D K Chanchodiya told UNI that during the checking at trains passing through Anand-Nadiad-Godhra-Bharuch and at platforms, 10,000 passengers were nabbed and a fine ranging between Rs 500 and Rs 1000 was levied.
''May being a vacation period, there was a mad rush for tickets. And many who could not get tickets, boarded the trains without tickets,'' Chanchodiya said.
