Veteran PWP leader Patil receive this year's Shahu award

Kolhapur, June 8 (UNI) Veteran PWP leader and educationist Prof N D Patil has been selected for this year's prestigious 'Rajarshi Shahu Award', instituted by the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Memorial Trust, Kolhapur.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Memorial Trust held today, which was presided over by trust chairman and district collector Pravin Darade, a trust release here said.

The award is given every year to a person in recognition of his service and outstanding contribution in his respective field in memory of great social reformer and erstwhile Kolhapur princely state ruler Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, the release added.

The award carrying a cash prize, a citation and memento will be presented to Mr Patil at a function later this month, the release added.
