UHBVN launches Rs 120 cr power works in Yamunanagar

Chandigarh, June 8 (UNI) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has launched power sector works worth Rs 120 crore in Yamunanagar district which is to be completed by this fiscal-end.

Besides, the Nigam will provide computers to all the divisional and sub-divisional offices so as to make the Yamunanagar Operation Circle as 'Model Circle', a UHBVN spokesman said.

The Nigam, he said, had targeted to release 900 new tubewell connections during the current financial year. It had also been planned to shift 600 non-domestic consumer metres having more than 20 KW load and 9,800 domestic consumer meters out of premises.

He said the power utilities energised 66 KV sub-station Gulab Nagar and augmented capacity of 66 KV sub-station Chachhrauli and Yamunanagar.

High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS) and Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) had been provided in 11 residential colonies and villages. A 11 KV feeder had been set up to supply power to Civil Hospital, Yamunanagar.

The spokesman said the power utilities had initiated multifarious activities to further strengthen the transmission and distribution network of the district.

Two new 220 KV double circuit transmission lines were being laid to transmit power from the upcoming Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram (DCR) Thermal Power Project, Yamunanagar to 220 KV sub-station Jodian and 400 KV sub-station Abdulla Pur.
