SP alleges anarchy under Mayawat rule

Mainpuri, June 8 (UNI) Castigating the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party (SP) today alleged nothwithstanding its slogan of terror free rule, the Mayawati government was characterised by anarchy in the state.

''The terror of BSP workers haunts the Kishni town here. Even, policemen dread them,'' SP general secretary and MP Ram Gopal Yadav told reporters after condoling family members of slain party worker Ashish Yadav, who was allegedly shot dead by a BSP leader.

BSP leader Nirmal Singh, also the husband of Nagar Panchayat chairperson Sarla Chauhan, is wanted in the murder of SP worker Ashish alias Neelu on May 26. Singh is absconding.

Incensed over the auction of the property of the BSP leader, BSP activists pelted the police station with stones and torched a PAC truck and two motorcycles on June 6.

Several, including two cops, were injured in the incident.

So far, six persons had been arrested and six police personnel, including the concerned station officers, suspended for dereliction of duty.

Announcing Rs 2 lakh compensation to the slain SP leader's kin, Mr Yadav said ''the torture of SP leaders will not be tolerated anymore.'' UNI XC-ATI VS RC RS2047
