Rain claims three more lives, taking toll to Eight

Bijapur, June 8 (UNI) Heavy Rains, accompanied by wind and lightning has claimed three more lives, taking the toll to eight in the District since last two days.

Police said that Mahadevi Siddanna Kumbar(25)died when lightning struck her while working in front of her house at Bannetti village in Sindagi taluk.

In another incident, a bullock belonging to Maruti Tavarakhed died when a lightning hit it at Arjunagi village in Sindagi taluk.

The value of the bullock was estimated to be Rs 15,000. The Almel police registered the case.

In yet another rain related mishap, Mr Hulagawwa Nanamant Lakkannavar (52) died when roof of her house collapsed while she was asleep due to heavy rains at Gangur Village in Muddebihal taluk.
