President Kalam dedicates Insat 4B to nation

Hassan, Karnataka, June 8: President A P J Abdul Kalam today dedicated to the nation the country's latest communication satellite, INSAT 4B at Master Control Facility (MCF) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), in the outskirts of the City.

INSAT 4B was launched on March 12 from Kourou in French Guyana by the Ariane-5 spacecraft.

The satellite, which has become fully operational, has 24 transponders, including 12 in Ku-band for broadcasting and communication services.

INSAT 4B monitors the health and other parameters of the spacecraft.
