Precious metals fall on improved offers by stockists
Mumbai, June 8 (UNI) Both the precious metals registered a downward trend today with Silver declining by Rs 225 per kg and Gold by Rs 100 per ten gm on improved offers by stockists on the Bombay Bullion Association.
Silver fineness .999 opened low at Rs 18,645 on lack of demand Later, it eased further and closed at Rs 18,640 with a huge loss of Rs 225 per kg from yesterday's close.
In London, silver was down to USD 13.44/13.47 per troy ounce against USD 13.67/13.69 per troy ounce in New York.
Standard gold (99.5) and pure gold (99.9) also opened downward at Rs 8,785 and Rs 8,835 per ten gm respectively on thin buying support.
Later, the yellow metal dropped further and closed at Rs 8,765 and Rs 8,810 per ten gm respectively with a loss of Rs 95 for standard gold and Rs 100 for pure gold from its last close.
In London, gold was down at USD 653.00/655.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 667.00/669.00 per troy ounce in New York yesterday.
