Mufti Mukarram seeks second term for Kalam

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Pitching for President A P J Abdul Kalam's second term, the Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid M Mukarram today appealed to political parties to work for his re-election as ''during his tenure as President, India has got international honours''.

He said, ''He is a simple person, very good and cooperative. His continuance will dignify the stature of Indian politics.'' He expressed hope that UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will consider Dr Kalam's name for the second term.
