Modi writes to PM on kidnapping of two Gujaratis in Nigeria
Gandhinagar, June 8 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene immediately and ask the Nigerian government to secure the release of two Gujaratis -- Rajesh Patel and Sunil Dave, who have been kidnapped while working in Nigeria.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Modi said this was not an isolated case of kidnapping. Several Indians, including Gujaratis, were kidnapped in Nigeria during the last few months for ransom.
It is, therefore, of utmost urgency to provide adequate security to Indian nationals, including the Gujaratis, residing in that country, the letter added.
