Modi lays foundation stone of BISAG
Gandhinagar, June 8 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today urged the scientists to put in extra efforts in the field of geoinformatics.
''There is a scarcity of scientists in the field of geoinformatics. Also, the gap between research and development and its utility has to be bridged,'' Mr Modi said while laying the foundation stone of Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG).
The new building of BISAG academy will be built in 20,000 sq.km within 11 months at the cost of Rs 2.05 crore.
Granting the certificate of ISO-27001 to the academy, Mr Modi said, ''Given the research and data collection that BISAG undertakes in the field of land, water and natural resources, the academy will become an asset to the country.'' UNI
