WB: Mexican accused in Fast track court on June 13

Barrackpore, Jun 8: Mexican national Febles Ortiz Eduardo Antonio, facing judicial custody since his arrest on March 21, was yet to be released as the Mexican Embassy in New Delhi failed to furnish a bail bond of 10,000 USD granted by a local court.

He will now be produced at a Fast track court on June 13.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Dibyojyoti Dey here had granted interim bail to Antonio against a bond of 10,000 USD on May 11, considering a petition filed by Mr Gabriyal Terres of Mexican Embassy.

Antonio was arrested on criminal charges, including unlawful activities against the Civil Aviation Act at Kolkata Airport on March 21 last. He was arrested following a complaint lodged by Captain S S Kohli of Bangkok-Delhi flight IC 854.

The judge also rejected a prayer for modification of his earlier order granting interim bail on conditions and later transferred the case to a Fast Track Court here, as the police had already filed the chargesheet against the accused, Defence Advocate Krishnendu Sarkar said today.

The court had ordered police to produce the accused before the Fast Track Session Judge court on June 13, Sarkar added.
