Man preserves brother's body for 2 months to resurrect it

Coimbatore, June 8 (UNI) In a bizzare incident, a man preserved the mortal remains of his brother for two months, believing that prayers would bring back the corpse to 'life'.

Police said the incident came to light on Wednesday at Papanaickanpalayam on the city outskirts when one Ms Anuradha, hailing from Thuvarakurichy in Thiruchirapally district, lodged a complaint with the police that her husband went missing for the last two months from his brother Charles' house.

Deceased Selvakumar (38) was living with Charles, a religious preacher. Selvakumar allegedly committed suicide on April 5.

Believing in the 'resurrection' of the dead, Charles locked the mortal remains in the kitchen and prayed, along with his family and neighbours.

Acting on the complaint, police broke open the house and recovered the body.
