Madhura Chaudhari, Ameya Bhangale top HSC exam in Maharashtra

Pune, June 8 (UNI) Madhura Ajay Chaudhari of Wardha and Ameya Ramesh Bhangale of Achalpur in Amravati district are the joint toppers from the state in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination conducted by Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the results of which were declared today.

Both Madhura and Ameya scored 586 marks out of a maximum of 600, aggregating 97.67 per cent.

Madhura, a student of J B College of Science at Wardha, was also the first overall and the first among girls in Nagpur Division.

Coming a close third, is Sushil Satyanarayan Konda from Mahatma Gandhi Mahavidyalaya at Ahmedpur in Latur Division.

Two others -- Veena Kumar Kulkarni from Bal Vidya Mandir Junior college, Parbhani in Aurangabad division and Nirmal Marotrao Bankar of Newajabai Hitkarni Junior College, Bramhapuri (district Chandrapur) from Nagpur division -- have secured 582 marks (97 per cent) each.

Two girl -- Ketki Vishram Gulwani and Amruta Arun Patil, both from Vivekanand College, Kolhapur -- secured 95.83 per cent marks and stood first in Kolhapur division in the state. They jointly shared the first position among girl students.

Kedar Ravindra Panditrao of Welingdon College, Sangli and Amol Jagnnath Yedge from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Science, Karad in Satara district secured 95.67 per cent and 95.50 per cent marks respectively. From Latur division, Varsha Ganesh Polawar secured 95.50 per cent to top the division among girls.

Shivani Sanjay Deval from Fergusson College, Pune and Roshini Dnyandev Rasal from Premraj Sarda College, Ahmednagar jointly topped Pune division scoring 95.33 per cent.

Prashant Kulbhushan Sahni has topped the general merit list of the Mumbai Divisional Board of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination securing 95.17 per cent marks.

Kulbhushan, a student of the vocational stream of Sathay Mahavidylaya, scored 571 marks out of 600.

Nazim Abdul Sattar Sheikh of Lady Tahirunissa Inamdar Junior College, Pune, from Pune division scored 95 per cent.
