Hassan, Karnataka, June 8 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today said he had frequent interactions with children because they were the future of the nation, purest in thinking and the fountain of new ideas.

Replying to a question from a standard XI student in this city after participating in the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Master Control Facility of the ISRO near here, he said, ''When I am with all of you, like anyone else, I forget my worries and become elated.'' Answering another question whether any being similar to humans lived on planets other than earth, Mr Kalam replied, ''The search is on. We may find them one day.'' Sharing with the students some thoughts on 'values in life' he stressed the importance of spreading the message of 'giving.' ''Take the example of the Seer of Siddaganga Math, Sri Shivakumara Swami, who is an example of spreading this message. He saw education and alleviation of hunger among masses as an effective means to enrich human capacity,'' he said.

For the occasion, Mr Kalam wrote a poem on 'radiating the message on giving.' ''In giving you receive happiness, if you have knowledge share it, if you have resources share it with the needy, use your mind and heart to remove pain of the suffering and cheer the sad hearts. In giving you receive happiness and almighty will bless all your actions,'' he wrote in his poem.
