Joshi asks officials to prepare information in advance
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, June 8 (UNI) Maharashtra's chief information commissioner Suresh Joshi today urged the officers concerned to get equipped with all the general information to avoid waste of time and energy.
''This will help provide general information being asked commonly by the applications seeking information'', he said while speaking to newsmen at the divisional commissionarate.
''We have asked the officials concerned to print booklets containing general information and put these information on the internet so that their and the applicants time could be saved.
People seeking general information could be asked to refer to the booklet.
Joshi said so far 1.24 lakh applications were made seeking different information in the state in the last 17 months. Though he was for providing information like copies of the answer sheet of SSC and HSC examinations, the board is not prepared logistically to extend such information to the candidates. And it cannot also be pressed as a fundamental right, in view of several judgements of the high court and the Supreme Court.
State information commissioner V B Borge, the divisional commissioner Sanjay Kumar and the district collector Sanjay Jaiswal were also present on the occasion.
