Home Ministry orders inquiry into terror CD
New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) The Union Home Ministry today ordered an inquiry to confirm the veracity of a Compact Disc (CD) released by a terror outfit owing allegiance to Al Qaeda in Srinagar, threatening to create anarchy in India through violence and blasts.
"We are conducting the necessary inquiries," a Spokesman of the Ministry said here.
The Ministry appealed to the people not to be panicky in the light of the threat from the international terrorist organisation.
"We view such activities and threats as a desperate effort by terrorists and anti-national elements to try and create problems in the country and scare among the people," the spokesman said, adding that "a close watch is being maintained by the state and central agencies and action is being taken on a continuous basis to foil such designs." He said there was no need for any panic.
In the CD released to the media organisations in Srinagar, a masked man, with an automatic gun beside him, is seen reading out the message in Urdu language in front of the camera.
