Foreign reserves up by USD 3.4 Billion

Mumbai, June 8 (UNI) The Country's foreign reserves rose for the second consecutive week by USD 3.4 Billion to reach USD 208.373 Billion from USD 204.934 billion, Reserve bank weekly statistical report said today.

The foreign currency assets were up by USD 3.6 Billion to USD 201.002 Billion from 197.4 billion last week, Meanwhile, the gold reserves diminished to USD 6.9 Billion from USD 7.036 Billion last week.

The Country's reserve position in the international monetary fund (IMF) remained unchanged at USD 459 Million.

The aggregate deposits of scheduled commercial banks in India went up to Rs 26,08,665 Crore from Rs 26,03994 crore last week.

The foreign currency assets expressed in US dollar terms includes the effect of appreciation or depreciation of major world currencies, said RBI.

The foreign exchange reserves include India's reserve tranche position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
