DMDK leader condemns eviction of Tamils from Colombo
Chennai, June 8 (UNI) Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) Founder Leader Vijayakanth today strongly condemned Sri Lankan Government's action in evicting Tamils from the capital city of Colombo for security reasons.
In a press statement here this evening, Mr Vijayakanth said the Lankan Government justified its action saying some Tamils were responsible for bomb blasts in the capital.
The DMDK leader said while the police were responsible for catching the culprits, the intelligence agencies had responsibility to prevent such incidents.
The outright eviction of Tamil community not only showed the inability of the government to contain terrorism but also its 'ethnic cleansing policy,' he alleged.
