Damu Naik appointed spokesperson of BJP legislature party

Panaji, June 8 (UNI) Damu Naik, re-elected from Fatorda constituency in the recent hustings, was today appointed spokesperson for the BJP legislature party.

The party has a strength of 14 in the 40-member House. It had polled 31 per cent of the votes as againt 32.5 per cent by the Congress, according to the BJP opposition leader Manohar Parrikar.

About a thousand votes made the difference forcing the BJP to sit in the oposition, he added.
