Bangalore, June 8 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh today said that Congress party will soon take a delegation to the Prime Minister to appeal for vacating the stay in connection with the implementation of Kalasa Banduri irrigation project which aimed at providing drinking water to several places in Northern Karnataka region of the state.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that the delegation would also meet Party President Sonia Gandhi and prevail upon her to find a solution to the problem.

He criticised BJP for politicising the issue over the statement made by Ms Gandhi during polls in Goa. BJP should avoid politicisation of the issue, if it genuinely wants to provide drinking water to Hubli-Dharwad twin city, he said adding that it was presently trying to divert the attention of the people from its dismal show in Ullal polls.
