Cases against AIADMK MLAs over burning of TN CM's effigy

Puducherry, June 8 (UNI) The police today registered cases against six persons, including AIADMK legislators A Anbazhagan and Om Sakthi Seker, who were arrested and released yesterday, in connection with the burning of the effigy of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi.

According to police sources, cases were registered against Mr Anbazhagan, Om Sakthi Seker, Kamal, Vimal, Iyyappan and Rozario, under section 143, 186, 149, 336 and 506/2 of IPC and section 34(d) of the Puducherry Police Act.

The DMK, which is supporting the Congress-led Central Government, had convened a meeting of the office-bearers immediately after the incident, demanding Chief Minister N Rangasamy to take steps against those who burnt their party chief's effigy.
