25 killed, 50 hurt in UP road mishaps
Lucknow, June 8 (UNI) At least 25 people were killed and 50 others injured in separate road accidents in Uttar Pradesh today.
On accident took place when a bus, on its way from Meerut to Bulandshahr, rammed into a tree while trying to overtake a truck in Hafizpur area of Ghaziabad.
Fourteen passengers, including two children and a woman died and 35 others were grievously injured.
In Aligarh, some passengers of a roadways bus were resting near the roadside, as the bus they were travelling in got puntured. A speeding truck hit the stationary bus from behind and it fell over these people, killing five and injuring four.
Later, one Niranjan -- the gunner of Moradabad additional superintendent of police (ASP) Yogesh Singh Yadav was killed when his vehicle hit a stationary roadways bus, and five of the ASP family sustained injuries.
In Kaushambi, poisonous gan inside a well killed one father-duo son after they stepped down it in Pokhraj area.
A labourer Rajesh (38) allegedly died after falling off the famous monument of Sikandara in Taj City. He fell several metres below, while sleeping on the edge of terrace at Sikandara.
In a separate incident in Agra, a woman died and three others were severely injured, when the bus they were travelling in, turned turtle.
Besides, a girl was killed and a woman injured in a car-auto rickshaw head-on collision in Kotwali area of Mainpuri.
One person each was also reported to have been injured in road accidents in Malihabad and Gosaiganj areas of the state capital.
