Woman threatens to kill self, kids outside Modi's house over job
Nadiad, Jun 7 (UNI) A woman, who was promised a job by the State government after her husband's death, threatened to commit suicide along with her three children in front of Chief Minister Narendra Modi's residence as she is yet to get the job.
Chandaben Simonbhai Mahida was assured a job by the Kheda District Collector Office through a letter on April 23 this year.
She had lost her husband, a malaria field worker, in November 2000.
She has three children with no source of income.
She had earlier met Mr Modi at Katlal in Kheda district during a meet on 'Beti Bachao Andolan' there, and narrated her woes to he chief minister, who then ordered officials to look into the matter.
Acting on the directive, the District Collector's Office had issued the letter.
However,
when
nothing
materialised,
she
yesterday
sent
an
online
message
alleging:
''As
your
promise
has
not
borne
fruits
so
far,
I
will
commit
suicide
with
my
three
children
in
front
of
your
house.''
