Third Front to provide 'viable answer' to Cong, BJP: Chautala

Fatehabad, June 7 (UNI) Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala today said people were disillusioned with both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Third front constituted yesterday at Hyderabad will provide ''a viable answer to these parties''.

Talking to media persons at Simbal village, he maintained that in addition to the political parties that had gathered yesterday at Hyderabad, two more parties would soon join the front taking its strength to eight.

He said if the Third Front comes to power after the next Lok Sabha polls, the Prime Minister's issue will be sorted out accordingly. Mr Chautala had returned from Hyderabad last night.

Addressing people in the village, Mr Chautala alleged that the Congress government at the Centre and in Haryana had rendered thousands of small traders jobless, as now companies like the Reliance were selling even vegetables and grocery items. He claimed that the Congress was only concerned about big industrialists and was not at all concerned about farmers and small traders.

He said the traders wanted to purchase wheat from grain markets at Rs 1100 per quintal but the Congress government did not allow private purchase and the government agencies purchased it for Rs 850 per quintal. On the other hand, he added, the government imported wheat at Rs 1300 per quintal last year.
