TDP condemns for allegedly dragging NTR's name

Hyderabad, June 7 (UNI) The TDP today took strong objection to Congress MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Rao for allegedly dragging the name of party founder N T Rama Rao to streets to win favours from the Congress High Command.

Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development and elder daughter of NTR Ms Purandareswari's husband Venkateswara Rao was very much with Mr Naidu when party MLAs wanted to put an end to ''interference'' of NTR's second wife Lakshmi Parvati, TDP Parliamentary party leader K Yerran Naidu and TDP legislature party deputy leader N Janardhan Reddy told reporters here.

After the successful conduct of the TDP's annual Mahanadu, the Congress had made Ms Purandreswari indulge in a war of words with the TDP, and now again used Mr Rao to indulge in mudslinging after Mr Naidu successfully brought regional parties on a common platform as an alterative to the UPA and NDA, they claimed.

Mr Rao's political career was only an ''arm'' provided by Mr NTR, they opined, adding that he had no right to speak about TDP after crossing over to the Congress, fought by NTR all along.
