Stage set for distribution of fish medicine

Hyderabad, June 7 (UNI) Fish medicine will be distributed tomorrow and the day after to patients suffering from asthma coming from different parts of the country, amid tight security in the wake of the recent bomb blast in the Mecca Masjid.

Over One lakh murrel fingerlings were kept ready by the Fisheries department for being administered to patients at the 24 distribution centres, by Bathini Goud family.

Closed-circuit TV cameras and metal detectors have been installed at vantage points to prevent any untoward incidents at the venue exhibition grounds.

All arragements were made for the smooth distribution of fish medicine to patients from 2110 hrs tomorrow, Hyderabad district Collector R.V.Chandravadan told reporters.

While patients throng the city every year in the belief that the fish medicine provided a miracle cure for the respiratory ailment, rationalist organisations, including the ''Jana Vignana Vidike'' have dubbed it ''unscientific''.

Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board officials had made elaborate arrangements for distribution of water packets to the patients.
