Security tightened at Nahan, says SP
Nahan, Jun 7 (UNI) The security has been tightened here and other adjoining areas of Sirmaur district of the state following attack on police officials on SP JP Singh today said.
The security in the town has been beefed up following incidents of police officials being manhandled and beaten up recently, he told mediapersons here.
Referring to attack on four policemen by a mob on Monday night, Mr Singh said the district police has decided to arm policemen on night patrol to prevent re-occurrence of such events.
He said 11 people, including two women, have been arrested on Monday night and said they have been remanded to police custody till June 12 after they were produced in the court on Tuesday.
All the arrested 11 people have police records and have been involved in various crimes, he said, adding that seven of them were of the same family.
The SP said the arrested have been identified as Prem Singh, Gagan, Sanju, Vikas, Nirmala, Akash, Sagar, Shakti Singh, Vikram, Arun and Rama Devi.
