Sajjad seeks due representation for Muslims in J

Srinagar, June 7 (UNI) Peoples Conference chairman Sajjad Ghani Lone today threatened to launch a statewide agitation against the ''enslavement of entire generation'' in Jammu and Kashmir and also sought due representation of Muslims in the governance.

Addressing a news conference here, Mr Lone sought to substantiate his proposal of trifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir on regional and religious lines.

Mr Lone said his party would resist the ''crowding out'' of majority Muslims from the state governance.

He urged the state government to ensure that the majority community gets proportionate share in civil and other allied services. ''Muslims form 70 per cent of the total population in Jammu and Kashmir. They should get due representation in the state governance,'' Mr Lone added.
