Robber injured in exchange of fire with police

Belgaum, Karnataka, June 7 (UNI) In an exchange of fire with the police, a robber sustained bullet a injury as a motorcycle gang robbed Rs 4.07 lakh from two employees of a private company in Shinolli Village on the Karnataka-Maharashtra Border today.

Police said the four-member gang followed the two employees carrying money for distribution of salary. After attacking them with lethal weapons,they escaped with the booty.

When police were alerted, Khanapur Police succeded in tracing a them in Othuvali Village. When asked to stop, the robbers started firing at the police who returned the fire, injuring Robert.

Robert confessed to the crime and said the money was with five others who escaped during the incident.
