Reliance adds 1.4 million suscribers in the month of May

Mumbai, June 7 (UNI) Anil Ambani's 'Reliance Communications' today announced a record 1.4 mn net subscriber additions on its mobile network during the month of May this year.

With a slew of offers launched during the month, Reliance communications registered a 40 per cent growth in net subscriber additions over previous month.

Reliance Communications Personal Business President S P Shukla said, ''We are confident that our new innovative offerings, based on our research insights, like zero roaming tariffs, most affordable lifetime validity recharge and ILD call rates at par with domestic calling would further enhance the growth momentum.'' Reliance communications recently waived off roaming rates by launching India Roam Free Plans, soon after slashing roaming tariffs by over 70 per cent.

To propel the growth in the market-place, the company announced a 50 per cent cut in lifetime validity recharge vouchers bringing the price down to Rs. 499.

In another significant initiative, it brought calling rates from India to US and Canada virtually at par with domestic calling at Rs.

1.75 per minute on Reliance global call card.
