Recommendations to cancel Shahabuddins passport

Siwan, June 7(UNI) The local police administration had recomended the state government for initiating steps to cancel the passport and driving licence of convicted RJD MP Md Shahabuddin.

Police superintendent Sunil Kumar said here today that the recommendation had been made in view of the conviction of the MP in two criminal cases.Mr Kumar said that as per the rules he had recommended the state government to cancel the passport and the driving licence of Md Shahabuddin.

The licence of the fire arms possessed by Md Shahabuddin and his immediate family members had already been cancelled.

Of the 52 criminal cases lodged against him, Md Shahabuddin had been convicted in two of them.He had been awarded with lifer for kidnapping CPI(ML) leader Chote Lal Gupta.The court had also awarded him two years imprisonment in connection with attacking and ransacking the CPI(ML) local office.

Md Shahabuddin is lodged in Siwan jail and the special court was conducting trial in the cases on day to day basis.
