RComm adds 1.4 mln mobile subscribers in May
New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) Telecom service provider Reliance Communications (RComm) added 1.4 million subscribers in May owing to a slew of offers announced during the month, witnessing a 40 per cent growth in subscribers over the previous month.
The company launched its 'Classic' range of entry-level handsets at prices as low as Rs 777 last month and sold close to one million mobile phones in a week.
''The tremendous customer response to the initiatives taken by RComm have been the prime drivers behind the 40 per cent increase in subscriber growth rate,'' said RComm Personal Business President S P Shukla.
He said the company was confident that its new offerings, such as zero roaming tariffs, lifetime validity recharge and ILD call rates would further enhance the growth momentum.
RComm last week introduced colour FM radio handsets at Rs 1,888, coloured mobiles at Rs 1,234 and monochrome handsets at Rs 777.
