Punjab minister to lead delegation to Gujarat

Chandigarh, June 7 (UNI) Punjab Local Government Minister Manoranjan Kalia would be visiting Ahmedabad to study the constitution and working of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesman said that the minister would study the civic amenities being provided in Ahmedabad.

The Punjab government was seriously considering to improve the civic amenities in the Corporation towns of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda and Patiala. After studying the constitution, administrative structure, working, financial arrangements and expenditure of the Authority, similar authorities would be setup in Punjab, to draw up a comprehensive 25 year master plan and to provide civic amenities to the Corporation towns.

Mr Kalia would be accompanied by BJP MP Navjot Sidhu, Harish Rai Dhanda, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab BJP chief Rajinder Bhandari and Mr D S Bains, Principal Secretary Local Government.

The delegation would also call upon Gujarat Chief Minister Narinder Modi.
