Punjab inter district cricket final poised for close finish
Patiala, June 7 (UNI) Overnight 49 for 1, Chandigarh scored 210 for 8 in the allotted 95 overs, taking a lead of 13 runs, against Patiala in the final of Punjab State Inter-District cricket (Under-19) for Dhruve Pandove Trophy at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium here on the penultimate day of the match.
For Chandigarh, the main run getters were Shivam Khurana (34), Vishal Thind (27), Sumit Dhiman (24) and Gurinder Singh 37 not out and Anshul Tripathi 35 not out.
For Patiala, Rajwinder Singh and Bhavish Goyal captured 3 wickets each for 49 and 82 runs respectively.
In the second essay, Patiala compiled 224 for 5 in quick fashion.
Jeevanjot Singh scored 75 in just 50 balls, hitting 12 fours, Amarpreet Bains scored 38 in 24 balls, whacking 3 fours and 2 sixes, Amitoj Singh scored 37.
At close of play, Mohit Mohindra was 22 not out and Preetkamal was unbeaten on 20.
For Chandigarh, Gurinder Singh took 2 for 74. Patiala were all out for 197 in the first innings.
The match is poised for a close finish when the match resumes tomorrow.
