Punjab delegation to study working of Ahmedabad Development Authorit
Chandigarh, Jun 7 (UNI) Punjab Local Government Minister Manoranjan Kalia will lead a delegation to Ahmedabad for two days from June 9 to study the constitution and working of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the department said that it was understood that the Ahmedabad Development Authority (ADA) had improved civic amenities being provided to the people of Ahmedabad and the Punjab government was seriously considering to replicate such development Authorities in the Corporation towns of Amritsar,Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda and Patiala.
After studying the constitution, administrative structure, working, financial arrangements and expenditure of the Authority, similar authorities would be set up within the state of Punjab to draw up a comprehensive master plan and to provide civic amenities to the corporation towns for the next 25 years.
Mr Kalia would be accompanied by Amritsar MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Harish Rai Dhanda, Punjab BJP President Rajinder Bhandari and Principal Secretary (Local Government) D S Bains.
The delegation would call upon the Gujarat Chief Minister, the Urban Development Minister and also the other authorities related to this department.
Mr Kalia, who also holds the charge of Industries and Commerce department, would also interact with the Industry Minister and prominent industrialists of Gujarat.
