Bhubaneswar, Jun 7 (UNI) Orissa Assembly Speaker Maheswar Mohanty today directed School and Mass Education Minister Bishnu Das to individually review the zero result schools in the state and take appropriate action.

The Speaker's direction came after Mr Das in reply to a question of Congress member Sitakanta Mohapatra, told the House that this year 83 High Schools have reported zero result during the HS examination as against 135 High schools during last year.

The Minister, while expressing concern over the zero result steps the government was contemplating to take action against the Headmaster and other teachers holding them responsible for the zero result in the examination.

Mr Das said a majority of the schools which reported zero result belonged the KBK region, where steps were being taken to fill up the vacant teachers post.

Congress member Tara Prasad Bahinipati while drawing the large scale vacancies of teachers in KBK region, said in one school in Ambaguda a lone Sanskrit teacher, has been teaching all the subjects to the students.

The School and Mass Education Minister, however, agreed to the Speaker's directive to conduct review of each school reported zero result during the last few years.
