One Keralite killed, four missing in Oman cyclone

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 7 (UNI) A Keralite was killed and four others missing in the cyclone 'Gonu' that lashed Oman yesterday, Non-Resident Keralites Affairs Department (Norka) said today.

The body of the deceased identified as Prakasan, had been found, Norka said confirming the report from the Indian Embassy in Oman.

Only three of the missing persons-- Shaji, Udayan and Muhammad Ali-- were identified, sources in Norka said adding further details are awaited.

Norka had set up a Help Desk here to provide information on Keralites in Oman, lashed by the cyclone yesterday.

The sources said they were in constant touch with the Indian Embassy in Oman and the Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry.
