No pesticides in Pepsi-Cola drinks: Central Food Lab
Kolkata, Jun 7 (UNI) Cold drinks marketed by Pepsi and Coca Cola do not contain pesticides, a Central Laboratory told Calcutta High Court today.
City-based Central Food Lab had conducted tests on the soft drinks on a court order after lawyer Idris Ali moved the court alleging soft drinks were not suitable for health and that they contained harmful elements like pesticides.
The laboratory collected samples of Pepsi and Coca Cola along with its other soft drinks from the city markets and conducted tests.
The lab submitted its report before the divisional bench headed by Chief Justice SS Nijjhar.
The court, however, reserved its judgement on the petition and sought assistance from environment activists and some organisations before spelling out its verdict.
The matter would, however, come up in court next week.
