Mosque blast suspect remanded
Hyderabad, June 7 (UNI) A local court today remanded in custody Sameer who is suspected to have supplied the RDX which was used in the May 18 blast at the historic Mecca Masjid in the city.
Hyderabad police brought Sameer from Mumbai and produced him before the XII Additional Chief Metropolitan Judge who remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.
Police have moved a petition praying for police custody and for narco analysis test.
The police which was yet to make any significant headway in the blast case was hoping to get some information from him.
Sources said Sameer, along with three others, was caught by the Border Security Force (BSF) while crossing the Bangladesh border in West Bengal.
During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to have played an important role in the Mumbai train blasts also. Following the admission, he was handed over to the Maharashtra police.
During narco analysis test, he was believed to have admitted to having supplied RDX to some friends in Hyderabad.
After hearing from the Mumbai Police, the police here reportedly filed a production warrant and obtained his custody.
Police hope to unravel the mystery of the blast case once Sameer was given to their custody and subjected to narco analysis test.
