MFB sets up automated plant for auto components
Chennai, Jun 7 (UNI) Leading auto parts manufacturer Mudhra Fine Blanc (MFB) has set up an 18-crore fully automated plant at SIPCOT here to produce large scale blanked components mainly for automotive applications.
The new plant will feature fine-blanking Presses from Swiss-based company 'Fientool Technologie AG'.
"These Presses represent the latest generation of fine-blanking technology and it would be first of its kind in India", Company Chairman S Thyagarajan told newspersons here today.
"With this objective, we have partnered with 'Feintool', the global leader in fine-blanking technology and equipment, to set up this plant," he added.
"This
new
facility
would
establish
MFB
as
a
world-class
supplier
of
fine
blanked
components
and
systems
in
the
automotive
industry
in
India
and
overseas",
he
said
adding
"MFB
would
produce
about
100
million
components
per
year." He
said
"with
find
blanking
capability,
Mudhra
would
be
in
a
position
to
address
a
wide
spectrum
of
customer's
requirements
in
metal
forming,
high
volume
metal
stampings
and
other
demanding
engineering
applications."
"The
group's
tool
design
and
manufacturing
capability
would
be
further
enhanced
by
additional
investments
in
the
tool
room",
he
said
adding
"Mudhra's
group
turnover,
from
its
existing
operations,
fine
blanking
project
and
expansion
in
the
tooling
business,
is
projected
to
grow
three-fold
in
the
next
24
months."
