Metal prices fall on thin buying support
Mumbai, Jun 7 (UNI) Metal prices today fell on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils came down by Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively owing to sluggish demand by bulk consumers.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bar drifted lower by Rs 100 per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.
Zinc slab and Lead ingot shot up by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal on lesser stock supply.
Tin slab and nickel cathode also fell by Rs five and Rs 20 per kg respectively.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,300, Copper utensils - Rs 31,400, Brass utensils - Rs 25,700, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,900 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,800, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,400, Lead ingots - Rs 10,300, Tin slab - Rs 705 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,200 (per kg).
