Kumaraswamy urges IT industry to adopt villages
Bangalore, June 7: Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy urged a group of IT industry representatives, who met him over breakfast on Wednesday, to adopt villages, rural schools and colleges.
"The state has 26,000 villages. Corporates can play a key role in improving the quality of life, education and health conditions of these villages. They can adopt schools and colleges in some of them," the CM said.
Security: Responding to the industry's security concerns, he said the government has already hired 5,000 police personnel. However, it would take a couple of years to complete training before they are put on the job.
As a solution, TV Mohandas Pai, head (education&training), Infosys Technologies, said the city has over 200,000 security guards. "The government can train some of them."
