Kandasamy to be inducted into ministry
Puducherry, June 7 (UNI) Congress whip M Kandasamy, inducted as the sixth minister in the Rangasamy cabinet here, is likely to be sworn in on June 10.
Chief minister N Rangasamy yesterdqay called on the Lt Governor Mukut Mithi and handed over the letter recommending the appointment of Mr Kandasamy as a minister. Mr Mithi forwarded the letter to the union Home Ministry for approval. The swearning in will take place after the approval by the Home ministry.
Mr Kandasamy, who is a Dalit member elected from Bahour constituency, had the opportunity to become a minister in the Rangasamy cabinet following the resignation of Mr P Angalan, the Welfare Minister, due to family problems. Mr Angalan elected from Thirubhuvania (reserved) constituency, remained as a minister for just six months.
Mr Kandasamy will be becoming a minister for the second time.He was the welfare minister in the P.Shanmugham cabinet earlier.
